English summary of “Mapping Equine Infectious Diseases” project activities in January-June 2026.
  • A visual identity for the project was created.
  • The project was introduced to horse owners, stable managers and veterinarians.
  • The structure and main content areas of the project’s knowledge base were defined.
  • An informational article on the EHV 1 virus was published.
  • A report was prepared to draw up laboratory contracts for the diagnosis of equine disease samples.
  • A training session about Strangles was planned and implemented.
  • Participation in the international Strangles Awareness Week 2026 in 4.-10.5.2026.
  • A survey was carried out to investigate the actions of the equine industry to prevent infectious diseases in horses, the willingness to report disease cases and whether a sense of shame prevents information about infectious diseases.
  • The use of project-produced materials in natural resources education was planned together with Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
